Green card (insurance)
Green card (insurance)
Third-party liability insurance is required. For EU/EEA-registered cars the home policy covers liability across the EU and the number plate serves as proof of insurance, so a green card is normally not needed; AMZS lists the green card among documents to check before travelling. Non-EU vehicles may need a green card or border insurance.

Summer checklist
AMZS pre-trip vehicle check: tyre condition and pressure including the spare (raise pressure about 0.2 bar for extra load); if towing, check trailer tyres, tow hitch and lights; oil and brake fluid levels; washer fluid; lights; battery; wiper blades; mandatory equipment and first-aid kit expiry. Have the air conditioning checked before the heat and replace the cabin air filter; do not run the air conditioning at maximum even on hot days.
